This is an early concept painting I made for my tabletop game, Divine Intervention. At the time I was fleshing out ideas for settings and objects where the pointed star symbol would be found. In the game, the symbol is very old, and has changed form throughout the ages. Here, the symbol is found on the cover of a grim looking book which rests on a shelf or altar. I made this piece with oil paint, and I'd say the melting drips add to the mood :)
